Abstract
This paper explores the critical role of governance and social equity in physical education, emphasising the importance of inclusive policies, fair access, and equal opportunities in sports and wellness programmes. It examines how effective governance structures can promote diversity, reduce disparities, and ensure that all individuals — regardless of gender, race, socio-economic background, or ability — have the right to participate in physical activities. The study also highlights best practices from global perspectives, offering insights into how educational institutions, sports organisations, and policymakers can foster environments that support social justice and equity. By addressing barriers to participation and advocating for inclusive practices, this work aims to contribute to the development of more equitable and sustainable physical education systems worldwide.
