Abstract
This paper examines the origin, evolution, and scholarly significance of the Telugu cultural and historical monthly Musi, founded by the eminent epigraphist B.N. Sastry in 1980. It analyses Sastry’s vision of integrating history, epigraphy, culture, and literature through a single platform and highlights the magazine’s role in preserving regional heritage. The study traces the thematic diversity, editorial philosophy, special issues, and revival of Musi after 1997. It also evaluates the journal’s contribution to historical research, literary criticism, and cultural consciousness in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
